Lovely 18th Century Hand-painted Delftware Plate with Flower and BudA hand painted Delft plate, mid 2nd half 18th century, which, had I come across it in a museum vitrine filled with antique delftware and faience I would absolutely covet. With the flower and bud rendered in a similar manner to an 18th c. botanical drawing like a plum colored honeycomb in this full frontal view, just waiting for the bees to arrive, and with the bud as if in cross section view. Elegant and folky both, and very crisp feeling regardless
